New RCVS Disability Working Party gets underway
The first meeting of the RCVS Disability Working Party was held last week (4th December), under the chairmanship of Professor Richard Halliwell, the RCVS Junior Vice President. The working party has been convened to prepare guidance to the UK's six veterinary schools on issues raised by the recently amended Disability Discrimination Act (1995), as they affect the admission and graduation of disabled students to the veterinary degree.

Plans well in hand for January Regional Meetings in Lancashire and Suffolk
Having just completed a successful round of Regional Meetings in Scotch Corner and Grantham in November (view the Latest News report), the RCVS is already preparing its next regional visits which will be taking place early in the new year. The team of Officers will travel to the Bolton Moat House in Bolton on Tuesday 14 January 2003 and then to the Courtyard by Marriott in Ipswich on Wednesday 15 January 2003.

The RCVS today wrote to the Daily Express newspaper after its attention was brought to a misleading headline that appeared in yesterday's edition of the national paper.

November Regional Meetings - have you booked your place yet?
The November round of Regional Meetings is almost upon us. Tuesday, 26 November 2002 will see the RCVS Officers at the Quality Hotel, Scotch Corner. The following day, Wednesday 27 November 2002, they will have travelled south to the Marriott Hotel in Grantham.

Following the final reminder that was placed in Latest News in September regarding members' payment of the Annual Retention Fee, a number of payments have been received. However, the list below details those members who have now been removed from the Register for non-payment.

November Regional Meetings - future of the profession in focus
On 26 and 27 November 2002, the RCVS hosted two Regional Meetings at Scotch Corner and in Grantham. Both meetings were reasonably well attended with around 30 vets and VNs at Scotch Corner and over 40 in Grantham.
